Sweet and Salty Raita

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 fresh coconut
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 green chilli
  • salt to taste

For seasoning:
  • 1 tsp oil
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 5-6 curry leaves

Preparation:

Beat curd with salt and sugar. Keep aside. Peel coconut and cut into very tiny bits. Mix with curd along with chopped green chilli. Transfer to a serving bowl.

Heat oil in a frying pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds and curry leaves

When they start spluttering, pur it over the curd. Mix lightly. Chill and serve.
